Like most males of our species, I carry a wallet in my back pocket. For years, this behemoth was jammed to bursting with credit cards, business cards, rewards cards, receipts, the wisdom of a thousand fortune cookies, coins from thee countries, photos of my family and cars, and a plethora of other historical detritus.
Thing is, I've moved 90% of this crap to my iPhone. My wallet is now looser than a Tijuana hooker after a week of shore leave. I've lost two credit cards that have just slipped out and vanished. I want something that'll hold about 4 credit/debit cards, my insurance cards, ID and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , a couple of rewards cards, and cash in a pinch - WITHOUT the possibility of stuff falling out.
Any of you geeks have suggestions for a sleek, yet manly appliance? I don't want one of those iPhone case wallets, and I'm not crazy about money clip-style wallets either. Had one for a while but you have to pull all of the cards loose to file through looking for the one you need.

just get a new wallet, it will be tight. I use a standard Coach wallet. Had it for about 10 years, and it's just starting to need replacement.

How much money do you want to spend? Also, as per the other comment, a new wallet will be tighter.

I had this problem a few years ago, and like George in the pic it started to be a comfort issue. And a fashion issue, if you care about that sort of thing.
My solution was the following:
1. Stop carrying coins completely. I leave them at work or at home as soon as I get there, and otherwise have a contained in my car for tolls and parking.
2. Get a money clip for cash (and, in my case, the work ID that I need all the time). I used to have a nice metal money clip but now I use a rubber band so I can leave it in my pocket through airport security.
3. Get a slim wallet for necessary items like drivers' license, credit cards, insurance. The key here is to get nothing that folds. It can thin sit in your back pocket without being intrusive or it you wear jackets/suits like I do about 3-4 days per week, in your breast pocket. Here's a relatively cheap one from Macys:

4. Get rid of all extraneous crap.

Am I seriously the only man alive that puts his wallet in his front pocket?

I have a very minimal approach to wallet stuffing. I try not to carry around stuff I don't use at least once a week.
Also, this seems like a good place to leave this:
I have one. Much Quality. Very Jalop. Many Like.

Do you have any preferences on material? Because if you're willing to branch out from leather, I would recommend a vinyl single fold. They're tight and quite durable.

I do, I can't stand it in my back pocket. I've got a slim wallet that's just a clip for cash, holds a few cards, and my license.

Front pants pocket? Nope. I used to have it in the front left, multi-tool/whatever in the right. At some point that got switched to wallet front right, phone in left.

I rock one similar to this. Holds a debit card, a credit card, DL, two insurance cards, and a few business cards with ease. Money slips into the slot in the middle. Couldn't go back to a normal wallet if I wanted to.

I too have a Costanza wallet, but it has yet to be disgorged.

That's the same reason I do it as well. I can't stand the feeling of sitting on anything. I don't know how others do it.

Front pocked always, been that way for at least 5 years and would never go back. If i have anything in my back pocket it is a notebook

I don't carry a wallet - I just put my cards, license in my front pocket

Check out Bellroy . Kind of pricey, but they are very excellent! And super slim and efficient.

This is what I've been using for the last 15 years. I got it at Bentleys (this is in Canada I don't know if it exist where you are) for under $6 bucks. with all my stuff in it it is less than a 1/2" thick. it carries 4 cards on the one side,I store some business cars on the other side(I have maybe 10 business cards in there.) and it has a money clip under where I keep the business cards. I only ever carry 1 or 2 bills of cash at a time so if you tend to keep a lot of cash on you I would not suggest it as it gets bulky pretty quick.
I'm on my 3rd one it's only a cheap made in China wallet so I replace it every 5 years or so. last time I bought it, it was on sale for $2.50.

My phone and keys are in my front pocket.

I use a 'card holder', it has one fold. Carries all of my cards and cash if I fold it up.

It normally goes in the back with some exceptions. If I'm "out and about", meaning had a few drinks, in a crowd or a foreign place, it goes in the front. Much less likely to be forgotten or stolen, because I'm always aware it's there. And when I drive it goes into the pocket under the head unit.

Fossil is a good place to find nice wallets. I think you are looking for a front pocket wallet. I have this obscure one from Joon that works really well. I can fit all my IDs and credit cards in it with a designated money section.

My keys and my wallet go in the left pocket with my phone in the right.

Nope. I don't understand keeping it in the back pocket: seems a real easy way to get it lifted. Also, how do you sit? With the wallet imprinting itself in your ass?

Get a money clip. Your back pocket will thank you. Your ass will thank you. Your back will thank you. You'll never forget it again.
Way back in the day I used to carry a wallet. This was back when wallet chains that drag on the ground, attached to leather folds embossed with the Anarchy logo, were popular. Then I switched to a money clip because, with the amount of sitting and driving I do, my back was starting to suffer. I also left it places once I grew out of the wallet chain fad. Since switching I cannot go back! My limp has all but disappeared (what's left is because of a physical injury), my back doesn't hurt, I don't sit lopsided and I don't leave shit in places.
Get a money clip. They're classy as fuck

My Uncle has actually had to stop putting his wallet in his back pocket, because after doing it for decades (and having a large wallet to boot) he's begun having back problems. Basically the buttocks doesn't properly support the spine when sitting because of the wallet.
Just another reason of many to never put it in my back pocket as far as I'm concerned.

I got this recently after taking a bunch of crap out of my wallet. No folds, pretty slim. fits a few credit cards and a small amount of cash. http://www.fossil.com/en_US/shop/cas…

I use to have a Costanza wallet as well. I got rid of all my membership cards and use this now. It's made from tyvek and has held up well over the past two years.
Sufficiently nerdy.
